Eastwood has some good discounted yost vises and parts. Some have weird shipping costs.

Thanks for this. I just got a vice I likely don't need, but couldn't pass up.

My vice just arrived today and this thing is legit!

Any words of wisdom on installing it on a rolling cart with a 3/4” wood top? I’m thinking a good backing plate and some sort of neoprene on top may be a good idea. TIA.

Which vise did you get?

I think your plans would work for a small vise but a larger one might need extra reinforcement on the top of the 3/4” wood and underneath. I flog my vises pretty hard though.

Yost 203.5. She’s a big b*tch alright. Maybe 20# or so. I may have to just put it on my work bench that’s stationary with the thicc top now that I’m thinking more clearly. I like the convenience of the wheeled cart. But yeah, it may be a bridge too far.

Thicc is the answer. And doing that give you the excuse to buy another vise that’s a little smaller for the cart.

I think I managed to grab the last Yost 203.5 in stock on Eastwood. I didn’t need a vise but it was hard to pass up that deal. Thanks for posting it!
