$120

Not a bad deal for ductile iron. $207 on sale at Amazon and $400ish other places.

Thanks. Bought one. Was looking for a vise and was trying to avoid Harbor Freight, though their vises do test pretty good. Great price.

That new Doyle vise at harbor freight does get really good reviews. This is cheaper and probably better.

Thanks for the link, just bought one! I’ve been wanting to buy a bench vice for a while now, so this was perfect timing! Appreciate it!

The vice just arrived. I’ve really been putting it through the paces- see pic. It appears to be well made, I’m happy I waited and didn’t buy a cheap one. Thanks again to @ERG80 for the rec!

Ok I took a bunch of pics to compare the American made vise from 15 years ago or so and this Taiwan made model. I didn't measure anything. This is just a visual reference.

I did weigh them however. The U.S. model is 42.7# and the Taiwan is 38.1#.

The U.S. has more info in the casting and only has 3 mounting points.

The import just has the model number in the casting. It only says Taiwan on the box. It has 4 mounting points.

I think this import is a good value at this price.

Here's a bunch of pics.

I haven't been very nice to my vise. It's been used to hold parts I was welding or heated with a torch to bend.

The import actually "feels" a little tighter. Maybe just because it's new. And the top surface pad or anvil? is larger if I want to tap a pin in or something.

If I wasn't deliberately comparing the two I might not really notice a difference. I prefer to buy an American made product and don't mind paying more if the quality is actually there. I wouldn't buy this import at a high price point. Since I already trusted the Brand I took a chance on this one, especially for the price. I doubt it will ever give me problems. Still well built.

If it ever fails me I will be sure to come back and update this post.
