YOHB? Incredible ‘21 LC build at TAV in Albuquerque

I don't have any personal experience with TAV but I did consider them for some work on my 4Runner once. As with you, their quote was well on the high side. I know they do a lot of good builds for YT and IG and recommended them to a buddy of mine in ABQ. He has a Jeep Gladiator he wanted some work done on. Basically a full build with an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper, interior build out, drivetrain work, suspension, armor etc etc the whole 9 yards. I guesstimate that my buddy had a quote of $60-$70k for parts and labor and paid a handsome deposit. That was a year ago and ZERO work has been done. A lot of "supply chain" excuses, stringing along, and saying certain parts are in and then saying they actually didn't have them and can't/won't work on it until everything is there. Basically getting a lot of runaround which is odd given how much IG they do and how they focus on celebrity builds. At this point I can't and won't recommend TAV given my friends experience with them.
Don’t have a dog in the fight, but this is how social media works. Have anyone (home builder, remodeler, pool builder, car builder, etc.) that garners attention via social media or “DIY“ or “improvement” programming, and you’ll find that if your project is not the subject of the aforementioned, you’ll be waiting.

He’s on his way to the south end of Argentina. It’s funny to see some interesting comments(many valid points)about the guys build but he’s actually utilizing every bit of it. He’s now in Chile and has taken the 200 on some really gnarly roads, salt flats, deadliest road, and cruising at 16000ft. How many people here have driven the 200 at that elevation? Yeah, he could have built it cheaper but he’s not exactly hurting for money. Regardless, his 200 looks pretty bad a$$ . I picked the 200 for its reliability and platform. His Earthromer broke down on him in Costa Rica I believe and finding parts for it was not possible. This was another reason the 200 made his top list. Sure, people have done these trips on scooter, etc., but does mean a person cant take the vehicle that will give them better odds of survival in terms of breakdowns. The 200 is the only suv I’d take on journeys like this, overlanding to meet new people and explore places we’ve never been. 😎

I have been following him since back when he still had the ER. It's a nice build but it was a TAV build so I guess seeing how much he threw at it and his already heightened exposure on social media he got favor in the speed of the build?! 0mm offset wheels, LT, it looks great and it's holding up and his truck single handedly has me questioning my wheel and suspension choices lol.

I have a very good friend with a ER out in California and while they love it and use it often, they have had their ups and downs with ER customer service and its issues. They are amazing builds but if I were spending north of $500K on something in that realm I would favor a few other builders over ER.

I don’t think folks are questioning the use (owner is having fun and using the heck out of it), but if you’re buying TC fabricated arms to then lower the bump stop, we should all hope our chosen “builder” stops that mistake from happening. Otherwise they’re an installer. Edit: probably reads harsher than it’s meant to be - people should do whatever they want!

I certainly don’t question this as to why I said “many valid points“ in my comment so I was not questioning the TC decision.

I took this thing all over the Atacama desert, close to 16,000 feet without problems. Just saying 😁

Lol, is that an ice cream truck? :steer:  Seriously though, that just looks like an odd place for a mini van
I forget now, but I believe it was a Toyota, rwd, 5 spd van. Wicked camper rentals.
