I own a 99 lx470 with the stock 16x8 5x150 wheels, std offset of 60mm, with the stock 275/70 r16 tires. I am looking to upgrade to 17x8 wheels. I found some replicas on eBay with two offset choices: 35mm vs the standard 60mm. So, does anyone have any experience with the 35mm offset? I would like the new wheels to sit more lateral to the stock position and I think the 35mm offset SHOULD put the wheel 25 mm closer to the side of the car, right? Also, I would like to upsize to 285/70 r17 tires. Does anyone know if this combo will fit a stock lx470 without any rubbing? Any comments on pros/cons appreciated. Thanks:)

Yes, +35mm offset wheels will move the wheel ~1" toward the outside of the vehicle. Many people are using 1" wheel spacers including myself. IMO, they will work just fine with your 33" tires. If not, there are some easy mods you can do to make them fit without rubbing. Welcome to the forum!
