My BFG 305 MTRs are getting a bit too much... :frown:

I'm pretty much doing all on road driving lately and I can feel every nub.

I've done gone and put the stocker Michelin LTXs on LC rims back on. I was running some LX rims PCd black and had the MTRs on those.

Question is, I want to replace the MTRs with someone not as aggresive, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with ATRs maybe with a 295, but just wondering what else I could go with?

Roadabilty with the occasional off-road is key.

Guess I get a little "over-ambitious" with the MTRs... :o

Where you've been Mac?

There are very few tires that come in the 295 size. Fortunately, Nitto TG is one of them.

I really love the smooth quiet ride of the Yohohama Geolander AT II's but I don't think they come in 295. I have the 285's. These tires are great off road but the NTG would probably be better in the rain.

Really happy with the NTG's in 285 (about 8000 miles on 'em)...

i know you guys love taller tyres, but i have the Grandtrek AT2 tyres....5 weeks in and they have performed excellently Smithers on some logging tracks which the factory Grandtreks left me slipping and sliding....my car is leased so i have to abide by Australian road laws and what my leasing company deems legal too, so 285/75/16 i cant do.

The Dunlop Grandtrek AT2 is advertised as a 50/50 tyre ..ie 50%on the road, 50% offroad, but they do say that it's optimised for logging tracks and the like...so that's mainly where i drive and the terrain is typically graded in the summer and heavily rutted in the wnter.

So far these tyres have surprised me as they are quite good right now in our winter. Although it is early winter for us right now....ask me at the end of August. I've got a lot further up some tracks i didnt even consider previously though, so that's a good sign.

Road noise is minimal as usual and this proves difficult changing gears if you have the music pumped up or even switched off because you need to hear the engine and if you're new to the car to know when to change gears...the LC100 is so damn quiet that i reckon i'll replace the clutch waaaay ahead of schedule!!!
take care
peter

Yea...where you been Mac?

I'm very happy with my BFG A/T KO in 285, good on and off road, 37k miles and still look and feel new.

I lost my Mud mojo for a while. Been buried with with selling the home, buying a new one, renovations etc.

I've got it back now though!

Welcome back anyway :flipoff2: I feel like I needed to salute you all over again :D
