I was in the market for a cheap beater car and came across an add for a 92 TLC for $5000. I had the owner (same guy since 93) send me pics of the car. I was suprised to see that the truck only had 109k miles on it and was all in one piece. Another great suprise was records back to the original owner including a recent tune up, brakes all around with new rotors and drums, and new 31 X 10.5 tires. The only problems with the car were a minor fender bender to the right rear (upper/lower hatch and bumper cover) which has already been fixed for $650 and some rust around the roof rack and top of the windshield which will be fixed shortly. I picked the truck up for $4000 to account for the repairs. The guy even took it in for an oil change the day before I picked it up and renewed the registration for a year.
So far I am impressed with the truck. Yes it is dog slow and feels like a truck compaired to my 2004 4Runner I just sold. But it feels solid and well built. IF I want plush and semi quick I hop in my wifes 07 Sequoia Limited we picked up last weekend.
I do have one question. What is the biggest tire I can mount on the stock rims without lifting the truck?
Thanks
