Can't seem to get the radio to accept an "odd split" repeater off-set into the memory. Google search came up with a couple others with same issue but no posted resolution. I'm thinking the manual may be incorrect.

The main 2m repeater for the Rubicon has had some frequency changes and it has an odd split.

If anyone figures it out please let me know.

I have a Yaesu 1500. It has the same proceedure to do odd splits. Maybe you can work around by changing the offset for that memory slot instead?

The manual is correct in how it works it's the same way on the FT-7800, it's just a PITA to do from the front panel. As much as I love Yaesu radios the front panel programing leaves a lot to be desired.

The easiest way is to use software and program your radio with a computer. It makes making changes like this much much easier. I use the software by G4HFQ and have always been happy. G4HFQ Software - FTB2800 Details

I just ordered the cables, and will download the software. Since I have 2 ft-2800s I guess it's time to enter the software programming age and say goodbye to manual programming.
thanks for the replies and the link.

With 2 radios the software is a huge timesaver you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

my 7800 has a cloning feature. Maybe the 2800 does too?

Boy is this true!! What a maroon to have waited so long. It's so easy. Now I'm spoiled and will forget how to used the front panel!

On a Yaesu FT-2900 You can shut off the ARS (Automatic Repeater Shift) by doing the following.

1. Hold MHZ (set) key for a second then rotate freq. knob to select 4ARS

2. pres the MHZ (set) button again then turn freq. knob till display says "OFF"

3. press and hold MHZ (set) button again to save settings

(Turning ARS back on is the same procedure)
