2/12/11 Harness is SOLD!!!
Price:$450
This is a brand new cowl/engine/windshield harness I built based on a working 1966 FJ45LV harness from Merbesfield. It will work for 65 to 67 FJ40/45's/45LV's. ** See post below for possible 1964 exception ...**
It was built with high temp, fuel/oil resistant GXL cross linked and correctly colored and striped wire, and with all new connectors and terminals.
It has been fully tested using OEM switches (again from Merbesfield) and will come fully labeled and with an updated set of harness drawings.
Upgrades:
The lighting circuit for the headlights uses 16ga instead of 18ga wire.
The ground circuit is 14ga instead of 16ga.
The main charge wire is 8ga instead of 10 ga.
It comes with one of my fusible links to protect the main charge wire.
The wiper circuits are 16ga instead of 18ga.
The larger gauge wires used in all the circuits are to prevent voltage drops in these circuits and are NOT to allow you to run larger current devices! Remember the OEM SWITCHES will not handle larger currents! Use the OEM fuse sizes in your fuse panel. Note: The main charge circuit upgrade will allow the use of an alternator putting out up to 55 amps over the OEM 35 amps. Just be aware that the OEM circuits are NOT designed to handle larger loads and if you need the extra capacity you should add a separate fuse block and or relays for the additional circuits.
Additions
I added a tap off the t-case 4WD indicator light to power an idle solenoid if you decided to run a later carb.
I added a tap off the dash lights to allow you to light a set of auxiliary gauges.
The only thing that does not use OEM connectors are the front/rear heater circuits. Toyota used metric sized "trailer type" rubberized connectors that I have found no source for. I used OEM type 4 pin connectors instead. I have included the matching side with long wires attached so you can replace your existing switch and heater fan connectors.
This offer includes the main cowl harness, the wiper switch and windshield harness and the bib harness. It does NOT include the rear chassis harness. Since the FJ45 had several versions of the bed I have no way of knowing which flavor you want. Plus the taillights are frequently swapped out for something that does ot have the OEM connections. For an additional $125 I will build the correct OEM rear chassis harness for your rear.
Upgrades available: I can use Weather-Pak connectors on the rear harness if you prefer. I can also modify whatever lights you have to use the Weather-Pak connectors. I can also add a trailer connector.
If you have questions, just ask.
