I am looking at selling my WWII military trailer. It is not a M416 or M101 Canadian model. It is called a MBT made by Willys. Stamped by the manufacturer in 1944.
These are fairly rare and are quite hard to find in decent condition.
I bought it off eBay about a year ago. It was listed as a M416 but the owner was mistaken. He also lied about the condition. He told me that it had some rust but not any rust through.
So here it is: The floor should be replaced. It is all structurally solid but the front of it rusted out where it trapped water. There is also a spot in the front along one of the sides that should be replaced as well. Someone started to cut a tailgate in it but did not get very far. It also has a 2" coupler welded to the top of the original lunette. It also is missing the original wheels. But, it has the foot and it's wired. It's actually not that bad for being 62 years old.
Despite the rust, I have used it a few times to haul trash to the dump. I put down a scrap piece of plywood over the rust hole to prevent anything from falling out. It pulls great, even when fully loaded.
My plan was to make it into a offroad/camping trailer. Unfortunately, I have too many projects right now and do not see myself getting to it anytime soon. This could be a fun project on a rare trailer for someone.
Trailer located near Delta, Colorado. 81416. $300 No title but will provide a bill of sale.
