if john dosnt have any doors....you should take a look at what stump did...if you have any fab abilities that should be a walk in the park and a nice door 'ta boot. just wait and im sure he'll chime in

corvette holdings in langford had a couple sets of FJ40 doors...

the guy at corvett holdings is a bit....out to lunch....but if you are going to deal with him then i would say go towards the end of the month....when rents due, he is usually a bit cheaper then

His name is Peter. He's an okay guy. The thing is he really is a Corvette guy. Get him going on 'Vettes and he's very knowledgeable. I think Toyotas were just something that became lucrative - he's not interested in knowing that much about them.

Went by today no such luck just some from early 70's
any other idea's?

I may just fab up my own half doors

there's been a 40 at one of the wreckers in nanaimo for ages( on that strip where theres a bunch of wreckers in a row), I always see it's roof as I drive by. don't know what the scoop on it is tho ?

I saw you driving the old island Hiway by the Shell station heading towards Colwood a few weeks ago. Nic truck, I recognized it from the roll cage pics.

Back to the doors: I built mine out of some 1/8 steel and some 1"x 1/8 square tube. You can get latches at Tomcat trailers.
They work great, and fit my soft top doors as well. A pretty simple build, really.

I have some soft half-doors I could sell.

Do you have a picture showing how you made the latch work?
did you use the regular hinges off your hard doors?

Here is a shot of my hinge setup. I used some 2"x 1/8" flat bar and welded a piece of 1/4" round bar to fit into the stock hinge hole. Then I bent the flat bar a bit to make the door sit flush (check out SOR's (Specter Off Road) aluminum half door page here They also have door strikers for $10 each (see next paragraph). You could certainly use stock hinges, but I didn't want to have to re-set the stock hard door hinges after removing them. This way I can pop these off and throw the stock doors right back on with no adjusting.

As far as the latches go, I got these from SOR, but you can get similar ones cheaper (with the interior opening capability) from Tomcat Trailers. You would just have to fab a stricker latch, which is quite simple.
