I am looking for a land cruiser in alabama or somewhere close. I would like an FJ60, 62, or 80. I am having trouble finding one close. Tell me what you have. I have liked land cruiser's forever and have decided it is time to get one and sell my current truck which is a grand cherokee (POS).

what part of alabama? check over here in Atlanta.

I have a 94 FJ80 in Birmingham, AL that I've thought about selling. Its been a great vehicle. I've had it for around 3 years and its always been used as a 2nd vehicle. It has factory front and rear diff locks, cloth interior and new BFG all terrian tires. Overall the truck is in good shape for the age. If I were to sell it I would be in the market for a pickup to haul dirtbikes and tow a rock crawler so maybe you have a trade?

Shoot me a PM and we can talk more.

Thanks,
Eric

There's a black LX450 in the current Autotrader. I believe it's a '97. No mention of factory lockers in the add though. 141k. $8900. I need to sell my Dodge Quad cab first or I would be checking it out myself.

This is my first post!:bounce: I'm just lurking.

huntsville, alabama. I have looked a little bit over there, I have found a few in atlanta that are a little expensive.

As for 80's, they pop up here in Birmingham all the time. Just keep your eye on Auto Trader. I'll keep an eye out for you, if you'd like. Anything in particular that you are looking for?

I am on the market for an 80 also, there is a guy in fairhope selling a white one with lockers. There are a couple with in like 60 mi of Birmingham but most dont have lockers. I am looking a little father away about 500mi radius around. But I do have fears of rust if i get to far north.

I just wanna add WAR DAMN EAGLE to this thread and I am in the market for a cheaper 60 (between 2-3k) anywhere in the Southeast

Preferable the later 60's (85-87), but any 60 for the right price

Thanks for the help, I have found one in bham for 4500. It's a 92 got the lockers and seems to be in ok shape from the pics. The guy says it sometimes shifts funny into 2nd or 3rd, anyone know or had this happen. I want to buy this thing and drive it forever, dont want any future motor or tranny rebuilds in possible. I got enough of that from owning jeeps.

Are the lockers aftermarket? Factory lockers weren't an option until '93.

Have you read the FAQ's in the 80's section and the newbie guide on slee.com? I recommend both highly before buying an 80.

what BHM said, plus if you want it forever, even LC engines will need rebuilding at some point... just remember, it'll last another 300K miles

Eric is right i have spoken to several guys who have 300,000 mi on thier cruisers, most make it well beyond 200,000 with out major problems. But this comes from people i have spoken to and i have never owend one yet...

my 92 did that when I bought it - It just needed the kickdown cable to the tranny adjusted and the trans screen cleaned cleaned. do a search for transmission flare. It does have a center diff button since it doesn't have a viscous coupler - but it does not have lockers.

Whats the difference in a center diff lock button and lockers. I was thought if you had that button that ment the truck had lockers.

You really need to read the newbie guide on www.sleeoffroad.com. You also really need to read some of the FAQ's in the 80's section, and search for some information in that forum.

The Center Differential Lock means that power is split evenly between the front axle and the rear axle. The front and rear locking differentials, optional on later models, would also assure that power is split evenly between the left and front wheels of those axles. When all three are locked, all four wheels turn at the same speed. True four wheel drive.

would prefer the fj60 just cause of the manual tranny and the carb when set up proberly is just about bullet proof; ours is now at over 235000 mile sw/o any problems and is the kid hauler!
