WTB: '78/79 Tailgate

I am trying to find the later style tailgate for a friends Cruiser. Really only need the shell, but let me know what ya got! Obviously no major rust or dents. Thanks

Hicruise, I've got a 78 full tailgate ....bought back in the late 80s by the PO of my parts pig and never installed. It is in primo condition. I may be willing to part with it(bare shell only), if I can track down an early 70s spare. - send me a pm if you're interested.

still thinking over the headaches of a body transplant.if I go ahead with it you are first on the 78 tailgate, I will be needing an early tailgate though if I do it.......the 78 works beautifully;

I was'nt calling you out, just Very surprised that there are only 2 in N. America? Might be easier to convince my friends wife that they REALLY DO need a FJ55 wagon convertible where it rains 10 months outta the year?

have been looking at an early body to do the transplant but the one I have decided on it is a long ways away and at the earliest it will be mid NOV. before I can get it.......so untill I have the transplant done will have to leave as is; it might be several weeks or months; just keep on looking as you might find one sooner but if you don't then you have first dibs on it
