hi,
i have a 1982 bj60 which i will part out the drive train and other parts needed for conversion.

3L

I'm looking at the 3L because it drops right in to a gasser mini truck that has a 22re. As my 22re is going I'm have been kicking around doing this swap. I'm not sure a 3b would be a good fit. too much fabbing up. thought about a 1pz and r151 but i think it would be too tight of a fit engine bay wise. And i need a pickup

I think you can do a swap I will research if anyone did it.
As for the 3L they crack heads.... that can be an expensive bill
just reccommended a 3b because i know of a guy who has a few in kitimat. you could pick it up....

3L

yeah i know about the L series and the head cracking scene but I'm willing to chance it I guess. I know enough people with them that haven't had any problems with them. As for the 3b I would like to put one of them in but I think it's out of my league. so it's either the 3L or the 1pz and r151 combo but that is probably out of my league too unless you wanna come by and pitch in for beer:) any info on the 3b swap would be awesome.

Hi There

I dont know if you are still looking or not for this, this past weekend I rolled my Hilux \Surf,not a big roll just sort of fell over and my body shop is not sure they want to take on the repair of the truck.

Its a Surf with the 2.8 (3L) non turbo 5 speed ect,I got the truck with 34,000 Kms on it,it now has less than 65,000Kms on it,it has the "cold weather pack" that come factory with a fuel heater and dual batteries ect.

It still look like brand new underneath, and the 3L 's dont crack heads like the 2LT's,these are non turbo motors and tough as nails.

New clutch less than 3000 Kms ago just to be safe and the last oil change was less than 7 days ago.

Whats great with this surf is its the early 2.8,so the oil filter is the same as a F150,no expensive oil filters from Toyota, any PH8 filter brand you desire fits.

I really dont want to sell the truck, but if I get the right price I will let it go rather than fight with my wife!! and the body shop.

I let her go for 5000$ or so,and that is the 100% complete truck, its all there including brand new winter tires and new batteries from 3 weeks ago.

The truck is not salvage,it rolled back on its wheels and I drove it home

I am taking a huge bath on this, but from now on I will be carefull where I park.

I am going to put it up for sale in this section in any case,I dont know where you are located,I am in Montreal Canada.

Let me know

Paulo

bcsteel. buy the one up in PG asking 6000. Drop a 22re into the dual cab. or just drive the heck out of it.
Your better off to buy a complete truck and have a wheeler.
