It's funny, the only gauge that really matters with Landcruisers, or any older vehicle, is the temp gauge. I hate the feeling you get when your temp gauge starts moving up.:frown: After driving mine for so long, I got pretty good at not looking at it so much and just enjoying the cruzer driving experience. I put an Aluminum radiator in mine with a V8 and it solved all my heating problems. The hottest it got was 205. See ya'll tonight:beer:

Pat, thanks for hosting yesterday. Always good to get together with other Cruiser enthusiasts. That shop of yours is pretty impressive. Thanks for hosting and the tour.

Chris, thanks for letting me borrow the sender. I'm going to plug that thing in this evening to see if that normalizes the stock gauge. If it works, I'll either get it back to you or get you a new one.

Brett, thanks for taking a look at the fan clutch and belts and everything. It's always fun to pick your brain and learn from the master.

Noah, the truck looks awesome. That bargain paint job turned out really nice. That's a really nice rig you have.

Thanks again to everyone.

Take care.

No worries, hope it works out for you.

Thanks again Pat for hosting, wish I could have stayed longer. Noah, the truck looks killer!

That seemed to do the trick. Swapped out the sender, and the gauge was back in the expected range. I'll probably go to a cooler Toyota t-stat and the heavy duty fan clutch down the road as Brett recommended.

I'll pick up a new Toyota sender to give to you for the next time I see you. If you need it sooner, just let me know and I can drop it by. Thanks again.

Glad it worked for you!

Been thinking about picking up one of these thermostat radiator caps, as a redundant gauge.

Wish I coulda' made it to the get together but have too much going on

see y'all later,
Brian.

be carefull with hood clearance. Its tighter than I thought... oops. bent the radiator neck down with too tall a cap once.

crumple up some tinfoil and put it on top of the cap and close hood to check if you have enough room.

Good tip,
Looks like that thermo cap is pretty tall too. Maybe I'll skip it then.
