Would this work as a switch?

I think you could use your own dash blank you already have, you don't need an FJ one, although they might be exactly the same part # anyway. You could make that switch into anything you wanted. Lights, compressor, panic button?

I know the ones on the left of the steering wheel are the open back kind. Not the same as the one pictured on the fj cruiser forum. but I didn't check the ones by the rear AC in the center.

The center console switch for the rear heater is already in place in my '99 (no rear heater on '99's...rear A/C instead). This lighted switch has two circuits in one button (high and low speed fan setting)...I'm just using one side of it for my spressoAIR OBAv2 compressor on/off switch.

Christo at one time had the switch cover available for sale...that's where I got mine. Just remove the blank cover and insert the rear heater switch cover...trace down the wires/circuit terminus under the driver's seat and voila you're set!

Thanks Spresso! I'm going to utilize that switch as well. I'll have to double check if the LX has the switch guts.

Its a race! I also got thw rear heater switch installed some time ago now. It has yet to be wired in for it's intended purpose.

Hoser- the LX has the switch guts. More in question is the relay wiring. Since there was never a rear heater option for the LX.
