Well my brother just finished fixing up a Ford Ranger that he got for free. Great clean 4 Cylinder truck. Turns 16 in 3 weeks.

He needs a 4x4 though and something that he can throw his hunting gear and dogs in. The Ford works great for his Sand killing ATV and equipment/dog but it is a really tight fit and even the side of the road on a rainy duck day can be a bit much for the 2WD truck.

Is the combination of these two trucks worth his time. Not sure if the engine swap is worth it or just use the truck as is. He wanted a large F-250 like mine to run WVO in.

My dad and brother aren't really LC heads so I doubt it will interest them that much. My dad is the type that would rather just save the money and time and start of right but this one is way more money than I think they are looking to spend since he already has a car.

I told my dad that a 3B Was sold here for 3K and that was just the engine. This one is high mileage though.

Thoughts?

If he is using the ford to move around the ATV I don't think an suv is the answer for him as he woudn't fit it back there.

Ohh yeah...I don't think he would necessary get rid of the ford. He has a small trailer if he really wanted to do that. Just something he can use as his Hunting Rig to go up in the forrest, haul his boat to the bay and cut accross some of the muddy fields to get to his duck hunting spots.

I'm just wondering if #1 Think it is safe enough to drive around with the rusty frame like that?

#2: Seems like a good buy yeah?

#3: Worth swapping into the other rig if it is clean? I would think probably not unless it was a real Gem which I'm sure it isn't.

1. I'm sure you could as i've seen worse, but I wouldn't and it would eventually break. Not worth the risk at all
2. Yes for the engine and trans it seems like a good price
3. Worth it for some who really want that but not for others who don't want to waste their time and don't really care for cruisers.

If he likes you F250 i'd advise him to get one. Perfect for what he wants.... but get the 350 to avoid the TTB front. :p
