Maybe this should go in the 'for sale' section - but who ever looks there? Maybe it should be in the International section? No - we already have diesel engines. I saw this on eBay and thought someone who can't get a 2H from a local source could be interested. Here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10428&item=2481847797&rd=1

A 2H engine with no reserve and no bids and nly 100,000 miles. Says in the description that he will ship - I bet he could be convinced to ship internationally. After all, there is no difference to him if the buyer is paying shipping costs.

Food for thought...

Ya that somebody is going to need an H55 too. And I just sold mine......

Nope. I have a 60 that' it'll fit in much more easily.
Then I'll have an excuse to convert to 24V.

i've got the h55f (hell, i got the 2H and t-case too) but im not sure i am ready to part with them yet...

still looking for that elusive rust-free 40 series with a bad 2f for sale cheap and begging for a conversion...well, you know how it is...

Sounds nice, but shipping would be a b*stard, hey don't they have those in Canada too?? ;)

Be nice to get that into a US cruiser.

The more diesel cruisers down here the better.

is that really a good deal? whats it really worth?

I have a fj60 with a 5 speed behind the 2f, I want a diesel., but is that worth it? Im scared to get screwd from buying a high priced item from over seas. Is that motor worth buying and swapping?

You know this whole thread is really tough. From strictly a financial stand point you are way better off rebuilding that 2F. I dont know what 2F's get for MPG but it's going to take you a long time to pay for (in fuel) the difference between rebuilding that F and buying and dealing with a diesel. Now I dont care about the costs, Im a diesel FREAK! I happened to find a HJ60 that had already been imported into the US for sale so I jumped on it. I bought a 1994 1HZ from G&S and Rob at RADD Cruisers is doing a frame off for me.

Good luck.

If my 2f were bad what would it cost for a full rebuild?

my 2f is ok. but If it were to need a full rebuild I'm sure it would cost nearly $2000. if not more, I dont really know. And lets say i find a 2h with starter/alternator for 2600-3300. Then I need mounts, fuel lines, and wires. Am I way off here? I dont know that I will buy a diesel anytime soon, but I will get one. We had a hj60 w/ a 4speed from 85(bought new) till 1999. Only put in glow plugs and had the alternator rebuilt (once in 14 yrs). I can make a list way longer than that for my 2f and i have only had it 3 yrs. Plus I really want to try out biodiesel/veggie thing. If I could get my cruiser to run for nearly free I would enjoy my cruiser much more, summer trips to Alaska or Mexico. Heck maybe even all the way through central america. , if it didnt cost me anything for fuel. Just an idea. I currently spend $35-$40 a week on gas. Thats over 2grand a year. It wouldnt take long for a diesel veggie set up to pay it self off.

Ya those are some good points. You'll need then engine, and tranny. Then you'll have to convert to 24 volt, or at least you'd want to. It's certainly doable. I'd say sell your 60 and find one to import (or buy if you are already in Canada)
