OK..so I get my new cruiser tomorrow, and I'm already planning out how to make it unique. I own a sign shop, and my last wrap was a leopard print landrover...so I was thinking of a throw back to the old woodgrain FJs and wagoneers.

What say ye:

Woodgrain with a twist :D

I think that would be cool. As long as it's done right.

that's just a rough outline....i'll likely go all the way to the flares between the 2 body lines. It'll be done right (since i'm doing it)...after all...it represents my business. :)

Sweet. I'd love to see the final product.

What color is your vehicle?

DougM

I believe it's the ever rare "white"
I almost did woodgrain and bark on my old 62, so now its time to redeem myself.

I wish I had a digital camera when I had my '75 Sedan DeVille, the wood grain shelf paper flames were bitchin' :grinpimp:
I think you are headed in the right direction here, I like the super close shot of the heart wood, cool idea.

Go with a curly maple pattern. I also own a sign shop, and am thinking about what wrap would look best on mine. Don't worry , I'll be staying away from wood grain. I'll probably go with a carbon fiber look. Can't wait to see yours.

I think it could look good, I think if you grey would look good on the white. Give it a rustic look.

Sweet rig, glad someone picked it up!!! Was the miss and stumble identified and fixed? still for that price it was a great deal. Its not to bad....but throw us some options and youll hear more than you ever wanted :D. There is a white and woodgrain 62 rollin around SC.

red dragons!

My opinion

I think it'd look cool, provided:

1. You use an image of wood that looks more like the "plank" style of wood real woodies used
2. You install a raised trim piece, covered in the same woodgrain material, around the border provide relief (again, like woodies had). If the application doesn't mimic the style used by real woodies, I think I'd pick another style....

Again, just my opinion

I think if I used a generic woodgrain, it would like I want to be a hardwood floor sales man. It may look different when I put my logo on there....so maybe I'll draw up another idea when I can take a better pics of the truck.

makes me think of the PT Cruiser with woodgrain, also makes me think of old people.

So this guy brings home a brand new Ford Country Squire and proceeds to pry all the wood grain mouldings and transfers off the car.

His equally less-than-swift neighbor who was watching walks over to get a closer look just as the guy finishes taking the last piece off.

Car owner: "What do you think of my new car?"

Neighbor: "I think it looked better before you took it out of the carton."

(Crickets)

"Hello"?

"Is this thing on"?

"I know you're out there folks, I can hear you typing".

Ladies and Gentleman, the comedy stylings of Cruiser Dan.

Nice :)

Nice way to blend in...
But man, this is a disturbing sight.
