I'm waaaaaayyyyy ahead of you. Both the bottom and top shelves already are lazy susans. :D

Ha! Ok, well done. I kinda figured you wouldn't stop shy of perfection.

And careful Sam, you may have just made the short list for insider inquisitions on availability and release dates :D

Unfortunately, the family sold its share of that business long long ago so I cannot help with release dates. :bang: The current brand is run by a relative who has redirected the brand.

The current whiskey, while quite good, is not what it was pre-prohibition. The only thing I have from that business/distillery is a bottle (or partial) of another brand from the same distillery from the last production run prior to prohibition .... it is reserved for very special occasions ... :hillbilly:

So are you related to Weller, Stitzel or the Van Winkles? :)

Weller 12 is actually a favorite of mine.

Van Winkle ....

Long and sordid story .... All of this is from memory as told to me by my grandmother on my mother's side. I have a Tennessee whiskey history article somewhere that corroborates most of this ..... don't ask me what a discussion of Bourbon is doing in an article about Tennessee Whiskey ..

The tie is through Shinkle family and the Shwab families of Louisville, KY. It is debatable whether the spelling was/is Shwab or Schwab ... But at any rate, the Shinkles and Shwabs owned a distillery: The Old Cascade Distillery. They produced several brands / recipes - one of which was Pappy van Winkle which was named for an ancestor of the Shinkle side of the family (if I recall correctly). The families held onto the distillery until sometime during prohibition at which point the distillery was sold to a company that wanted to continue operating and producing medicinal products - which the distillery was producing during prohibition.

I have a partial bottle of Old Cascade from the last production bottling prior to prohibition. It had been aged 20 years in oak prior to bottling. It is very smooooooooooth. I have also tasted some original Pappy at my Great Aunt Anne Shinkle's (who was the tie to the van Winkle side)funeral years ago .... unfortunately, my taste for whiskey had not developed, so I do not precisely recall it but I believe it was not quite as tasty as the Old Cascade ....

Back to your cabinet ... Very nice! (we need a whiskey glass smiley  :hillbilly:)

(edited for clarity ....)
