Won't Stay in Third!

Just took the spare parts for a test run yesterday. Third gear sounds fine, but if I don't hold it in gear it just slides right out. Anyone know what could be the cause?

Oh yeah, it's a FJ25 so it's pretty damn similar to a SM420.

Body lift sheetmetal hitting the Shifter? Sorry man, other then that id say you got a Bum tranny

The 4 speed in my '80 Heep did that when it was new. Replaced the shift tower (or the detents in the tower) under warranty and it worked fine for 80,000 miles, which is when I finally wised up and sold it.

Thanks guys, might as well pull the hump and throw another shifter on it.
