points or electronic? + to coil + and - to the dizzy,should have power on the neg side and down to the points(make sure wire going thru the dizzy is not grounded on the housing)hth

Point type ignition. resistor may be bad, jumped around it but no help. Have power going to + side of coil, but none coming out on - side. just noticed the wire from the starter to the coil is missing. I think that the power after engine starts. I don't know if that would be causing the problem, would not think so but?? new coil, could it be defective?
disconnect neg side at dizzy and see if you have power,if so the points or wire going thru the housing is grounded.If you dont have power on the neg side coil might be bad...
