Could be the attitudes. Sorry but a forum is the medium to start communication.

not sure what your talking about. i fill like we all get along fine. after every meeting we all hang out and BS. i think at the last meeting we had 15 folks show up. the one before that was not good. but for the most part we have around 15+ members and non members. i hope to see you at one of the meeting or one of the trips i plan.

This isn't correct. Again, not everyone who comes to this chapter page is a member, so talking about member specific issues should be done at the meeting or on the LSLC-HC mailing list. If you have concerns/questions, use one of those mediums.

That said, I am not sure what you are talking about either. Jan/Feb are always smaller due to it being winter.

Remember voting does not happen on this forum and we're free to talk and communicate with our friends as much as we like. Killing a thread after three positive responses to my post is frankly rude. I've been in the communication business for more than 20 years and using any medium to communicate is wise. If we didn't stifle communication on this forum maybe we would be able to move our meeting location to somewhere else and have a better turn out. I'm just trying to help our chapter

Calm down, no one is stifling anything or anyone. The thread was closed because it's a topic that has been beaten to death for YEARS. No action will come from it, and every time the outcome is the same - everyone wants a place close to their home, so it stays at Rudys. As I mentioned, we JUST went through this last year where there were 2 threads on that. I am personally not opposed to changing places, but this is a topic that MUST be discussed at a meeting with current members. When was the last time you were at a meeting?

My opinion is...

The membership is fine.

This group can not compare to a mustang club or corvette club (20,000 mustangs in Austin vs. 20 fj40's )

The club members all have older gas-guzzling 4x4 toyotas in one of the "greenest" eco-friendly cities in North America. The club has to be limited just for that reason alone.

I might only make one meeting a year,,,but, the energy and activities are defntly better than most other clubs (much less with this age of club member and vehicle demographic)... Ask Houston or San Antonio abt their LC community.

Regards

Chris

Houston chiming in here:

Our participation has been fine. We have laid back meetings (albeit, sometimes a little too laid back) and the members get along with each other. We as a group try to get together every so often to attend events.

What have you heard about the Houston club that makes you think otherwise?

No worries jason. I guess I shouldn't have woken the "changing the meeting location" thread again. Yes it's been awhile since I attended the meeting because Rudy's sucks. I don't like to patronize businesses that don't give a hoot if come or not. Moving forward, and please feel free to close this thread I don't know how. But if anyone wants to get together and have some good food and drink some suds while dorking out about these machines we all love, PM me and I'll buy the first round.

Just my opinion.
I really like the meetings and the people. As a matter of fact thank you guys for making me feel welcome been as new as I am for the club.

i really try and make it worth ya'll time to come out to the meetings. i know (or at least i fill like) i don't have any thing really worth your time to tell tell ya'll but i really do try. i think if we had more folks show up to outing. i think we would have more folks show up to meetings. also if any one has some thing they want to talk about at the meeting please fill free (it would help me out).
so please ya'll try and come out to the meeting and if ya'll want to talk about moving it lets talk about it at the meeting. because if you don't make any meetings and if we move it to place that the guys that are coming can't make it then we did no good. it has to work as best as it can for every body not just 1 or 2 guys.

but once again please try and make a meeting and lets talk about it with the folks that do make it.
thanks
Edwin

From somebody that hasn't been to a meeting in a few years, I can't complain. I think the people that make the meetings can decide to move it or not. If I can get to a meeting I will, if not I won't. We all have lives to live and other factors that play into our schedules. That being said, I hope to make some meeting this year.

On another note, Edwin, sorry for peer-pressuring you in climbing the v-notch at K2. I feel really bad. Dennis and I should not have talked(bullied) you into that. Sorry again.
