This comes from the "why didn't I do this early" pile.

Every single Toyota car and truck from the 80's and 90's had them, switch blanks. You'd often wonder, "I wonder what Toyota had planned to install there?"

Only to never find out. Just staring blankly...at the blank, cold, switch blank. Or WORSE, you have to stare at a gaping dash hole. Hmmm.

Introducing the DashHole Plug and Mount. These were developed to work with just about all 80's and 90's Toyota FLAT switch hole blanks. They were also developed to work seamlessly with the Delta Console as well. The DashHole Plug and Mount is designed to not only act as a switch blank but it comes with a 1/4-20 threaded hole to mount the accessory of your choice. This mount is designed to grab the entire area around the switch hole for strength. In fact the dash will fail before the mount does. This allows the mount to hold more weight that you'd expect.

The DashHole Plug and Mount comes in a flat face or notched face for accessory wiring.

NOTE: installation REQUIRES dash panel removal. Know your dash before attempting install.

This is a great idea! Can you make the wiring pass through on the bottom of the plug (put the "wit's end" upside down)? Maybe make some of both?

I tried thinking of use cases. Why bottom?

Probably for mounting things like a GPS that has the power source on the bottom (when mounting vertically). Of course, you could just run the wire around the ball with the hole on top too.

I assumed the "wit's end" would be on the exterior, with that explained it is no longer an issue.

I'm fine with W.E. on either end - you want it look a certain way; make it yourself, I guess?

Anyway, this is THE widget, I think - good for you, sir.

Genius, nicely done!

Very nice! If you install in reverse (Wits End and screw heads visible) I assume it's easy to install these without pulling the dash? i.e. feed the 'back'plate in through the dash hole diagonally using a stiff wire through the centre hole, then place the outer plate over the wire, bring together and fit the two screws.

Just saying, because I'd rather peel off my skin and roll in rock salt that ever pulling my dashboard out again........

The answer is yes. I don’t like being annoying with logos so it’s designed to work either direction.

My 80 is a 93, and as near as I can tell these Wits' End dash hole plugs are one of the few dash accessories that works for the early 80s. So my question here -- can these be used in place of the hazard switch? And has any used this in place of the stock location of the hazard switch, and then moved the hazard switch down below to one of the lower blanks? Is there enough extra wire to move the hazard switch that far?

What do you think of this idea? it seems like the higher location would work pretty good for a phone or small tablet. But then maybe the lower location would just as well and it is not worth the trouble to move the hazard switch.
