I’m ordering a set of new auxiliary headlights to mount to the front of my FJ80. How do I wire them so they turn on both with my hi-beams and also with a manual override switch when I don’t need them?
Thanks!

Find the wire that signals your high beam to turn on.

Once you have found that tap it and wire it to an on off switch. Run the other side of the switch to the trigger on the relay that will power your aux lights.

With the on off switch on, the circuit will allow the factory high beam trigger to trigger the relay for the aux.

With the switch off, the factory high beam trigger wont turn on the aux lights.

Without more information on the harness, I cant say for sure.

100 watts at 14.4 volts will pull 7 amps. Times 2 and then its 200 watts at 14 amps.

Not sure how the harness is marketed or constructed: Is it rated to run 1 130w light, 2 lights at 130w a piece, or is it rated to run 2 lights at 65w a piece.

If youre buying a harness from a trusted source, (i.e hella harness for hella lights) I wouldnt question the engineering too much as long as it is recommended as compatible.

I dont know if I would trust a fly by night company selling harnesses on Amazon.
