Yes, you read that correctly. After searching this and other forums, I am trying to find out where the wiper delay relay is located. My truck did not origianally come with delayed wipers. I installed a steering column that has the delay or intermitted stalk. Of course it did not work because I am missing the relay. Can anyone tell me where this relay is located? I have a 1984 4wd dlx pickup with a 22r carb motor. One forum said the relay is located up above the blower motor and ecu on the passenger side. Unless I missed it, I did not see one on an 84 in the junk yard. Also I am looking to see if anyone might have a pic and post it so I know exactly what I am looking for. Trying to trace wires is a pain in the ass without ripping the taped bundle apart. I really appreciate it everyone.

i think you need to get the wiper motor out of the truck you got the column out of . but then i am not sure if the plug and wiring are the same

Yeah, some of the relays were in the motor and some were in the cabin. Later on, 90- the relay was actually in the steering column.

wiper motors are interchangable umong 84-88 .. there are NO "relays" in the motors !!! for THAT YEAR !!!!!!

you are correct .. there is a seperate intermitant relay .

I don't know if what I did in my 85's work on your 84, but I suspect it does. The relay is a little green box that locates in the passenger side kick panel. On both my trucks the harness was there, but it was tucked up and taped almost out of view. I bought a tilt column with the intermittent wiper switch from the boneyard along with the relay. It was all plug and play. You will also need the short pigtail harness that goes with the relay. See pic.
