If anyone has a work-light or two that you can bring that would be a big help.

I have one work light I can bring

Just ordered my new bumper for the FJ. Went with the All Pro Offroad with the single hoop. It will look just like the photo below minus the side hoops. Truck goes into the shop on the 7th after the Wrench-a-thon to get the collision repair sorted out. My buddy is allowing me to do some of the work with him after hours to keep the labor down, hoping I end up with enough scratch left over for a full set of skids too!

What do you guys think of this River Raider snorkel for the FJ? I am digging it and it saves me from having to cut up the fender and A-Pillar. The breather extends up to the roof line for crossings. I am tempted to order it and have it color matched to the body when the shops doing the other work. I have no experience with River Raider so I am a little hesitant but it seems well thought out. One little detail I really like is they include a manifold for extending your Differential, T-Case and Transmission breathers to the intake as well.

Also looking for some suggestions on a decent but cost effective Winch. I am set on a synthetic line primarily for weight reasons. The All Pro bumper is only 76lbs and I will be removing about 35lbs of Stock bumper and brackets so I'm only gaining ~40lbs up front with just the bumper. I am hoping I won't be sagging too bad once I add the winch to the mix. Here are a couple options I have been eyeballing. Any suggestions?

Any options from Safari? I'd rather give my money to a local vendor if possible.

Like the bumper and like the river raider! If you are going any deeper you probably are going to have bigger problems. I don't see the air quality being much different down there than at the roof line. I dig it. I don't get to put a snorkel on my truck per :princess:

Although I love that we are getting a ton of snow in the highcountry, I am not really digging the fact that I have half a foot around my house and the garage is a complete mess. I hope to spend some time in it tomorrow. I am hoping for 2-3 days of warm enough to melt the driveway weather.

They have some Superwinch EP10000's? They are around 500 duckets. Seem to be the bees knees according to Safari. Not compatible with sythetic line though I guess according to Superwinch.

Great group so far. Looks like 5-6 people coming to work on their trucks and several more just to BS. I've got round for 2 vehicles at a time plus space to work inside so we'll need to stager things. I'll volunteer to go last.

I'd avoid the Smittybuilt. Heard some complaints on quality/dependability.

Interested to see how that snorkel works out.

I'm just putting on a roof rock. Probably no reason for me to take up precious garage space, I can work out in the driveway.

Unfortunately the driveway is a sheet if ice. We can work around it though.

Better bring chains...........

for your feet ;-)

I'm bringing some off-road racing DVDs.

Thanks for hosting Jonathan! The FJ loves it's new haircut. :D

Thank you Ryan. I really like the rack.

Ben stepped up in a huge way with my truck. After most had left for the day we tackled replacing some worn UCA joints. a job that would take a couple hours if I was we'll equipped took about 6 but the end result was well with it! Thanks Ben! Also Ben does custom fabrication specializing in vehicle armor. His bumpers are sweet! If you are looking for a new bumper be sure to give him a ring.

Clint from Battlement Fabrication stopped in and offered his services to any club members that need fabrication work done. I would highly recommend contacting Clint I you have any custom projects. He also extended an invite for wrenchathon part 2 to be held at his shop! Matt is going to work on dates and we will post up a W2 thread soon. BF has a vehicle lift! And more room than my garage so it should be excellent.

Thanks again Jonathan for the use of the garage. I apologize for using one side almost all day ( I didn't think the winch would have taken that long). I would also like to thank Mitch for helping all day and Matt for running me to grab parts as well as everyone else who pitched in. I would say if anyone needed fab work, Battlement is an awesome group. The plate they made for me Saturday worked out perfectly.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the trail.

Alex.
