Just a note that the “2nd“ button on the transmission is the bomb for snow driving, 7-8” here today make a big difference!!
Is there any restriction on speed in this mode? Thanks

My understanding is that it allows you to begin travel in 2nd gear to avoid slippage from the torque of 1st gear, which is why its helpful in slippery conditions. Once you begin moving it performs no function. At least that is my understanding.

At least on my '20, with 2nd start on, I cannot shift in to S1. Truly 2nd start.

Odd in my ‘13 LX I can turn it on and off any time at any speed and it stays on until I turn the truck off.

And yes to all, I use it often all winter.

It's exactly that way on my '13 LC - once tuned on it stays on until the truck is shut off. The only effect is that first gear is no longer engaged - all starts from a stop are in second gear with normal shifting up/down from there just as if 2nd was not engaged.

Your understanding is correct. We've been in 2nd start on the Cruiser and LX for a couple of weeks.
