Hi All:

A couple 'Cruiser buddies and I did a shake-down run on Sunday to the Reiter Foothills area of Washington State, northeast of Seattle, off of US Hwy. 2.

"Mad Chemist" is trying to get his rig dialed-in for Cruise Moab in late April. He recently has installed a freshly-rebuilt 350CI SBC, and a pair of Poly-Performance rear axles in his VJ40.

I'm not doing a long-distance trip in the near future, but I have done some winter projects on my FJ40, including moving the front axle forward about 2 inches. I also have a new set of tires for the rig (33X12.5R15 TSL bias-plys.)

The third '40 is "AWPCruiser" who was along for sh*ts and giggles! :D

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Regards,

Alan

Hi All:

O.K. - here are some photos (sorry - got distracted there for a few minutes!)

We started out playing on some rock climbs.

"Mad Chemist" is the tan '40 while AWPCruiser" is the blue one (I was taking photos, so my rig is in the background.)

Regards,

Alan

Hi All:

Unfortunately, "Mad Chemist" had some some problems on this run - engine issues such as overheating and vapor lock, transfer case linkages not adjusted correctly, and a slipping throttle cable.

Hi All:

So, after messing with some problesm, we did some general trail running.

Here is a shot of my rig, shorn with New Super Swampers! (With "Mad Chemist" in the background.)

Oh, and "AWPCruiser" as well! :D

Hi All:

On our way out of the area "mad Chemist" decided to try a couple of obstacles.

Here "AWPCruiser" is guiding his attempt up a rock face. Then there is the center route through the mud hole!

Meanwhile, I was doing a poser shot on tree stump! :hillbilly:

Regards,

Alan
