I'm sure this has been done before, but I thought I'd post up my afternoon project. My original pump started leaking out of the seals. I took it apart, cleaned and lubed up the seals, still leaky. I went to Autozone and picked up a "universal" aftermarket pump for $14.99 that had the right electrical plug configuration. I had to drill out stock fluid tank to fit the rubber grommet/seal, screwed in a plastic liscense plate bolt to plug the original discharge point on the tank, used RTV on screw and grommet, snapped on the new pump and and installed back on the truck. Way too easy I thought. Found out that even though the electrical connection fit the stock plug, the wiring was backward. No biggie I made 2 pigtails with female connector on one end and male spade conector on the other end. The male spade ends snapped into the stock plug on the truck, and the female ends criss crossed and snapped on to the new pump. A 20 min. job, but it took me longer because I spend a lot of time over thinking and worrying about it. Oh, the reason the tank is not the original color is I sprayed it with plasti-dip because it was discolored and ugly.

Great work. That black tank looks awesome!
My '74 has all the plumbing and the tank but is not working. I'd better give this a shot.
