Windshield tint

Had my windshield replaced, even after speaking with the shop I get back a mess. The install is poor, and the windshield has bad wave distortion.
More troubling is I originally had Pilkington glass in bronze tint with a dark bronze tint band, which the installer claimed I would get Pilkington or better.
Installed was APTECH Lamisafe. The windshield appears almost clear with possibly a Slight bronze tint. Tint code on the glass says M1148 on the new glass.

Can anyone compare their tint codes to mine?

The best I can do is add a pic of my glass info. I didn't even know it was there. It's supposed to be bronze tint. I used Safelight to do the replacement a few years ago

Just had mine replaced with Pilkington bronze tint as well. Mine reads "Laminated Safety Glass...DOT563... AS-1...M-1148...FW02074"
The numbers look like a combination of both yours' @YardPig and @Mike6158's glass

If mine is bronze tint it's very light. The Pilkington was a dark bronze with a very dark bronze tint band. This tint band is hardly noticeable, in the sun you can't even see it, sun is blinding you compared to the Pilkington.
I contacted them immediately, hoping they did not throw out my old glass to do a comparison by holding a white sheet of paper behind the glass.

Aparently DOT 563 and Mike's DOT 549 are both from china...I thought pilkington was us based...weird

Thought it was Japan / U.K., via Wikipedia: "Pilkington Group Limited is a multinational glass manufacturing company headquartered in St Helens, United Kingdom and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japan-based NSG Group."
