Windshield started to pop out---WTF--Help Please

I installed my stok 72 windshield back into my 72 FJ40 using a new seal and lock but the windshield started to pop out of the frame at freeway speed. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to this? Should I gave glued the seal into the frame? Please help.

Is it the exact same piece of glass?

did you use the OEM gasket? or an aftermarket. I used an aftermarket WS gasket once. Window did not fit tightly enough to be comfortable driving on the freeway. got an OEM toyota one and it fit perfectly. If youre using an aftermarket glass that is too small, with the OEM gasket, might be time for OEM glass, or one that fits tighter...

x2 on using a factory OEM gasket. I tried an aftermarket and it also popped out.

Should be installed dry, no glue.

Was the sealing area still wet or did you use some kind of lubricant to feed the seal in like WD 40 or something?

If you had the glass cut at a local shop sometimes they use glass that is thinner than stock. I've heard of people having problems with it sealing but not with it falling out.

can you get OEM for earlier?

Its the OEM glass but an aftermarket gasket. Sheeeeeet!

Alright, I just ordered an OEM gasket. Ill give that a try. Thanks for the tips.

You can not get the early glass OEM any more, but you can get the later glass and have it cut down to size.
