Installing a windcreen with a new weatherstrip. My old one had some sort of black sealant which was still sticky when it came out, I would guess it was butyl mastic of some sort.
Referencing the North American FSM for the Heavy Duty Land Cruisers, it shows two procedures. The general procedure is to put the weatehrstrip and windscreen in with only soapy water, then put sealant around the edges of the weatherstrip.
For Canada, an extra adhesive is used on the weatherstrip before installation:
Does anyone know what 'Cemedine 366' is made from? Seems like the product still exists, but are there Permatex/Loctite etc equivalents?
Or maybe someone else has a good product/procedure to get a windscreen in without leaks. I live on the equator and the rain is serious here!
