so we've had quite a few rain storms here in sunny SoCal as of late. Great! ....except my front passenger floor board got soaked. I searched on the subject and got everything from heater core to sunroof drains and windshield gasket. Well my coolant level is fine and it only got wet when it rained and only on the floor, not up the front footwell wall. Not the heater core (although the color of the water was similar to the coolant i think the carpets are just plain dirty). I've cleaned the sunroof drains. Lastly i know my windshield gasket is starting to leak over the front DS A-pillar so i'm guessing it could be failing other places.

Anyone have any other recommendations or should i just plan on changing the windshield and related gaskets. I could do silicone bead along the bottom and see if it leaks next rain....

what do you think?

oh and does anyone have the name of a good outfit in LA (one familiar with 80's) to replace my windshield when i decide to do it?

Thanks...

this just happened to me, wet floors etc. I had a leak in the same place(A piller DS) Come to find out I have an aftermarket windshield and according to a few guys here on mud they dont fit as well as factory windshields. So rather then dropping the dough for a new gasket, I went to the Kragen auto and bought some clear silicone. Then I went to town on the glass where it meets the gasket and the metal where it meets the gasket. Im not sure what the end result will be(waiting for rain) but it sooks pretty water tight. Good luck with that.

If you guys willing to travel to 60 East somewhere near Azusa.I have one place I strongly recommended, He installed my LX front windshield nice job.His name is Jose, he applied all the OEM windshield gasket, rubber with 3M silicone. No leaks.

Well, Im at the office right now and left his business address at home, once I'm home I'll let you know his address.

He charged me $50buks, which that time I brought OEM windshield and OEM windshield rubber.
