This is quickly going down in the “should not have started this” job column.
I had to pull a rear window to do some rust repair and while it was out I de-chromed and installed black lockstrips. Thought I would de-chrome the windshield while I was at it. All parts were ordered from Trail Tailor. I’ve spent several hours on the windshield lock strip and I cannot even get it started. I have the Lisle lockstrip tool, I have soaked the strip in silicone and sprayed the gasket down with soapy water. Whatever portion of lockstrip I can get into the channel just pops back out; the tool is useless here and I am just using screwdrivers at this point.
Any tips?
