It was windshield replacement time again on the '99 Land Cruiser this week. The neighbor across the street had a mobile Safelite installer install a windshield in her LR so that kinda kicked me in to gear.
Short version: All of our future windshields will be done by Geoff Wentworth, Installer for Safelite.
Geoff has about 17-years experience and is one of the rare glass techs that is thoroughly experienced, forthright and well versed with 100-Series rivet in place windshields.
So...I highly recommend Geoff for Northern Nevada windshield replacements.
He also informed me they do not use silicone to hold windshields in place...only urethane. He said silicone actually can promote rust creation at the body...something I've never heard before about silicone sealant.
