I'm in need of a new windshield for my 1970 40. I've been calling around and the cheapest I've found a new piece of laminate glass for is around $210 plus tax. That includes glass, cutting, weather stripping, and installation. Anyone know a good shop in the area that will do this for cheaper?

Nick,

You can get the glass cut at any glass shop. I have a template for it.

Check with Jacque at TOD.

Do you have comprehensive on your insurance? Some have a separate glass deductable at $50.

toyota don't make the old one any longer............afaik this guy is the only game on them.....unless someone can get one cut locally, not a good idea in my opinion......

I have my old glass that was in the windshield when I took it out so I have a template for them to go by. Thanks for the offer on the template charles.

I don't have insurance on my rig yet as I am still trying to get it street legal, pretty close. Probably going to either go w/ Grundy or Hagerty on my insurance and both have a small deductible for insurance.

I was looking at cruiser corps website on the weatherstripping and windshield. Butch, why would you not have one cut locally? Just trying to cover my bases. Thanks

The only glass guys I have here are the roaming mobile guys, I trust them to do an install but would not to cut one....not even sure they can.......

$160 ya can install your self....

I like the idea of someone (professional installer) installing the windshield w/ the guarantee that if they break it during install, they will buy a new windshield. If I do it myself and break it, I'm out the cost of another windshield
