Tried a search but to no avail.....

My rear two windows are going up VERY slow. It the track dirty or is the motor going???

That's because with each iteration of Windows Microsoft has added more feature bloat and image processing for the UI. Plus the overhead of Digital Rights Management, which touches everything...

Oh, wait, I only read the title. Wrong forum.

Seems odd that both window motors would be failing at the same time. Windows can bind in the felt seal at the door sill and in the rubber channels up into the window frame. Especially if the tracks/linkage are worn and the window isn't going straight up any longer.

Before ripping into your doors, I would recommend spending $15 and giving a tube of this silicone a try. It s specifically for door/window seals.

If that doesn't work I would try a white lithium grease on the tracks/running gear next. And pre-arm myself with replacement trim fasteners. You'll probably break half of them getting the panel off. These trim tool kits are awesome to have on hand...

Check Harbor Freight for same pullers...less $$ if you have an HF nearby. As staggrlee wrote, you'll wonder how you got along without them.

Only trim fasteners I've had issues with are the plastic screw head covers toward the front of the door. Repeated removal of the door panels for pm on the window linkage and playing around with different speakers caused one to crack. Cheap at Toyota or Lexux.

When I reset my DS front window roller I used NAPA chain lube on linkage inside the door, and silicone spray on the window channels. Made a major improvement.

You might also search the 80-series forum. We all had issues with that on the 80's before it was all over.

In my case, I cleaned the contacts in the window switch (on the drivers door), replaced the rubber window tracks, lubricated the mechanism and cleaned and lubricated the drive motor in the door. Result..........windows went up and down quickly again ! Which item was the culprit....not sure, but all of them probably contributed to some degree. The "new" owner of that truck is happy I did all that work before I sold it to him !

Ill give that a try. Thanks gents.

Oh and I'm at 13.1 volts at idle although its even slower when the truck is off...hmmm makes me think

For me slow windows was the first sign when my battery went south.

voltage at idle tells you more about your alternator than your battery. 13.1 is low though.

what's yoir battery voltage when car is off?

also how many yrs/miles on your rig and are you on original battery?
