I decided to try to winch up the rest of an aggressive hill at the Puerco this Saturday. Man, it was quite a challenge and I think Frank and I both pushed our equipment to the edge of its capacity.

In the end, we did it but it took Frank hooking up his winch near the top to get me over the ridge. The sand was so soft on the hill side that it was mostly winch.

STEEP!!!
Your dog looks more worried than usual

It was crazy. There was no traction at all. If I would spin my fully locked tires, I would just dig down deeper and the winch had to work harder. So the trick was to minimize spinning the tires but provide as much power as possible. The hundy was beeping most of the way up. She wasn't so happy about the task.

I would make it a few feet, then "rest". In the end, I would do it again, but with two winches on top.

That's the way to test out your equipment!
