Ok, so a quick brief on driving use before getting to my winch question. Our 100 is my wife's DD. It is a 95% street vehicle. The other 5% is a little beach, dirt ranch roads (some very minor ruts if heavy rain, but plenty of trees as anchor points) and my son and I may use it some if not using my GX for camping). No rock crawling or heavy mud (we have a 3rd Gen T4R for beating around rough stuff). When we bought it there had been a cosmetic "bumper bender" - no frame or fender damage - purely Tupperware. So one of my conditions was it would be replaced with an aftermarket steel bumper. Since discovering the dissent and the weight and modification ability we are settled on that. The guy locally at Baertrax in Dallas suggested I consider (based on the above) the warn vr line. I will be using synthetic line on it - again for weight because I don't plan any suspension upgrade other than tweeting the AHC sensors and torsion bars.
I suspect the majority of use will be pulling the occasional log out of the road, but on rare occasion I get a rut or when driving to Nebraska in the winter the VERY rare chance of sliding off an icy patch in KS. (Very slim chance of this occurring).
So, on to my question. Since the price is marginally different ($100) what's the other difference/advantage/etc? (They weigh the same)
Basically this is something I'm buying that I don't foresee setting out on any excursion where I would be in a need based situation, but if I'm upgrading the bumper, I want to go ahead and put it on.
VR-8000s or VR-10000s?
Will these fit the dissent?
