Winch line security.

How does one secure a winch line on a vehicle with the least probability of getting stolen?

Many of us have expensive synthetic lines and it would take a thief seconds to un-spool a line and cut it off.

Maybe it's easier to just remove the lever while motor engaged?

No suggestions, but I'm glad I don't live wherever you do. In my fairly long life (so far), I have never heard of a winch line line being stolen, though I'll grant that civilization and society as a whole does seem to be on a downward slide.

I don't worry about it. Used, hot syn winch lines probably don't have much street resell value.
