Winch cutout size

I am making my winch plate right now, and need some input on the cutout size. I will be running steel line and a roller fairlead initally, but plan on a synthetic line and hawse fairlead in the future. I don't want to cut a hole that's too big for a hawse fairlead, and can't find dimensions anywhere. How tall should I make the cutout?

I'm working with a Ramsey winch plate. The dimensions for the cut out is 9 1/4 x 1 1/4. It's 1 3/16 above the mount surface.

Doesn't Warn have the fair lead/hawser opening dimensions on their web site?

I used Masterpull's site Winch Rope, Synthetic Winch Rope, ATV Winch Ropes for cut-out dimensions. Click on the pictures and it'll show a winch specific diagram. Made the cut-out 1/8" larger than the dimensions shown on all sides to prevent chaffing of synth line. I also bought the fairlead of their site and it's beefy!
