Just got my OEM winch installed today. Looking for a controller but have no idea where to start. I have heard and read about Warn controllers working with the Aisin winches. Any thoughts?

I have read some posts about re-wiring for certain controllers but aside from finding an OEM controller, I am really just looking for a plug and play solution.

The OEM controller cost about $1500 - $1700  :crybaby:

You can retro-fit a Warn kit pn: 38625, comes with plug and controller.:banana: Job

good info .. thought it's like the old 8274 controllers ?

Yes, it's the nice old black rubber controller and a new 5 wire plug / socket kit. It's an easy retro-fit as someone has shown with the linked post.

Why Warn went with the new plastic controllers with a sideways switch I'll never know. In Overland Journal, it was the old school rubber controller (a la Warn) still be used by Superwinch that was considered the best controller when they did their winch shootout a while back.

...who would trade any of the newer controllers for the older style one.

Checked Warn's site and couldn't find the part listed anywhere - any idea where I can source this?

Warn's site does not list a lot of the products they make. Call your local Warn re-seller and order away.

If you're local, I have a kit in stock.

Just Jeeps doesn't stock this item and they are charging for special order, not to mention the 2 - 3 weeks wait time. :bang:

Just sent you an email for price and shipping to Toronto

Thanks

Just for the convenience, I ordered my warn parts from Lordco down the street. Sometimes the prices are ok depending on the salesman of the day, sometimes they are completely out to lunch. Make sure you have a part number in hand for orders.

Aisin AI-1000 remote socket

Hi all,

Any ideas where I might get my hands on a replacement socket for my Aisin AI-1000 remote? The rubber in the socket is getting very soft and it's difficult to connect the remote properly - the locking ring won't screw on. I guess I'd have to replace the whole socket rather than just the rubber? Even link to a part number would be a great help. Or could I just take the rubber out completely? (Spot the novice!)

Thanks

Sorry I am traveling and limited internet where I am - but if you check to see if the DESNO/ASISIN 38600-60090 winch is the same as the what you have.

I can help both of you out - controller and socket as I have a bunch of these I took off of TLC79's and replaced with WARN 9000lbs versions. However you gotta pay ALL shipping charges from UAE.

Thanks xkennx - haven't been able to figure out whether my winch is the same as the one you suggest - any idea where to check? Google's failed me...

I'll go down and take some pics of mine so you can see - I think mine might just be an updated version cause my decals are different then the two versions already posted in this thread.

Since your only looking for the socket and not the controller - can you follow the cable out of the socket and send me a pic of the adapter it plugs into? ( kenn.walker(at)armored-cars.com )
