Has anyone had luck using one of these:

RAM MOUNTS Flex Adhesive Base with 1" Ball RAP-B-378U B&H

mounted to the dash?

I'm about sick of the cheapo phone mount that I have that goes in the heater vent, it's pretty useless. What I'm thinking about doing is using one of those ram sticky mounts and then using a short ram arm mounted to a Hondo Garage phone mounts (if you haven't checked out Hondo you should, I have one of their phone mounts on my moto and it's really nice).

My concern is that the glue used to stick the ram mount ball to the dash will not hold up in the Utah summer heat. Lately the temps in my truck have been around 120 in the sun with the windows up. I'm wondering if anyone else has used one of these and had any luck with it staying stuck to the dash?

Looks nice but it’s out of stock and I think it’s been that way for a while now.

I have that EXACT RAM mount stuck to my dash and it has been 100% awesome. I lived in Phoenix for 2 years with it and now Colorado for another year with a very cold winter. It's never failed and it's been through awful, awful, awful Phoenix heat un-garaged mid-summer. My exterior temperature got up to 128F one day at Costco. The interior was obviously way above that on a regular basis. You should be just fine in Utah.

Clean up the dash really well and finish with an alcohol wipe. That RAM ball will stick there for years. Mine is cantilevered out just about completely horizontal, too. That puts a lot of load on the mount and like I said, mine's been awesome. I've done a bunch of off-roading with it, phone mounted and all. I've been frankly amazed how well that thing has stuck.

Actually, I just checked and have one more in stock. I must have put one too few on the website. First come first serve. They will be back soon though.

Just read the details and realized yours uses the tape deck. Unfortunately that won’t work for me. I use my tape deck as a way to get Bluetooth audio from my phone.

This works well for me. I didn’t want anything on the dash to interfere with my sun shade.
