like the title says. Just picked up a 79 parts vehcle (have entire drive line from the 79, so I could switch parts as necessary, just need to know what) and would like to switch the trans & t-case into my 77 (w/ stock 2F). Any thoughts?
Will a 79 transmission/transfer case bolt up to a 77 2F?

The engine is basically the same but you have the three bolt holes on the 1979 that allows you to bolt on a Power Steering Pump. The holes are located on the driverside (USA Version) opposite the alternator bracket holes.
You may have the swap your exhaust manifold, EGR stuff but the block and most all of the major engine componenets are the same.
The Tranny and T-case are the same as well.
Double check the flanges on the output of the T-Case. They may be different.
