If I were a multi-millionaire, I'd buy the newest G AMG available and send it over to Brabus for their wide kit.

Lifted sedan choice: Cayenne GTS

Big sedan choice: Panamera GTS

SUV: 200

You'll need to be a multi millionaire because Porsches are in the shop allot but the biggest problem with Porsche is their onsite customer service. I was totally floored how we I was treated as soon as I walked in. I was dressed like I just finished mowing the lawn. Go to Porsche and wait for some random person to help you and they always seem to be short staffed. Walk I to the main entrance of MB and it's like 1st class hotel treatment.

The sales guy asked me if I was trading in my 200 and just laughed a little and said "never". I love my rig.

Ouch! I would just rent. Don't feel so bad, I charge 2.75 to 3.25% per month to well heeled contractors.

My buddy has 2012 X5 M and hates it. Had it In the shop after a heavy ran storm because it sucked in too much water and they had to take the engine out and rebuild part of it. He also has issues with front alignment getting out of whack everytime he hit a large pothole but never happened to his mDX. Besides the X5 looks like a shoe (no offense) and after having 6 previous bimmers throughout the last 10years they have always has an electrical issue. I still love them but she wanted something more upscale without sacrificing performance.

The previous models 2011 and older ML63 is not anywhere the same as the 2013. Checkout "test drive" a Black MY2013 ML63 with the performance pkg. and it will surprise you. It feels very solid but not heavy for a 2.5ton sled. She looked at the Macan but thought it looked whimmpy. My neighbor has the newer Cayenne Turbo and I do like it but after driving his and this one, the wife preferred the ML63. Again this rig is not for me.

11% is very high for a auto loan

My wife came from an 2008 MDX which she also loved but it was time for a change so we went to 2011 BMW X5. After the three years she was thinking of going to a 2014 BMW X5 but with very little miles on ours she decided against it. She and I both test drove the ML350 but we both liked her current X5 better. The ML was very nice inside, very plush, just not for me though. She liked the X5 handeling better anyway.

I agree. The x5 is by far better than the ML350. I don't care for the looks either. The newer ML63 is a whole different animal all together. This blows the doors off the X5m. 4.6 0-60 with 3 suspension setting and you can raise it 3" for obstacles driving up to 60mph before it lowers itself....which will only be used if the snow is to deep on our street and at that point she will just take my 200 to work. The X5m cannot compete with this ML63 handling or straight sprints. I love sport BMW seats but damn these seats are another level above. My buddy in Cali has a 2013 X5 diesel with huge rims and loves it. It's like buying a bed, none are a one size fits all. Thank God for competition and variety.

you sir, are a man with excellent taste.

Lol thanks. I try to suppress the urge to spend but I got tired of my wife complaining about her harsh overly tuned suspension sleigh ride hitting potholes and bumps on 36 that I just said " :meh: :censor: it" and "get something that you'll enjoy and won't complain about "in the nicest possible way. Now I can put my 200 in the garage and use it only for my Rocky Mtn. adventures :bounce:

36 is the worst right now. I don't think anything will fix that. As opposite as this sounds, you should really check out a Subaru Outback. My mom just went from a Disco II to a new Outback, and they're really nice. It does great in the snow, it rides great and there are some great options. The new CVT transmission does great in the mountains and always finds the right amount of power. Barring that check out the new XC70's tons of power, comfort and safety. I love my Volvo 850 it has snow tires on it and with the gigantic brakes that came from the factory it stops so hard in the snow that I think my kidneys are getting damaged.

If I had a high maint wife, I'd get her into a cayenne gts because I'd actually like driving it.
When I see people spending $1k+ a month renting these things I just smh and wonder why.

If I had a high maintenance wife I would be divorced.

I could make a hell of a pile of money and I still wouldn't part with it on a monthly basis for a car. Cash to buy or nothing for me.

I dont want to derail this tread but what makes you say BMW is terrible. We have had 3 full years of use with out it going to the shop for anything not even even once. The only thing I have done to it was the interval maintenance and changed the windshield wipers. Gas milage is great, plenty of power, everything always works, pretty damn good in the snow with the Xdrive, very fun to drive at higher speeds when dry, corners great, great visibility out all windows ect...I dont even want to get into BMW vs Range Rover discussion either because I havent been in the new ones yet. I really do love them (FFRR and the Sport), it was a blast to drive when not layed up in the shop and very good on the beach after I changed out the s***ty summer tires.

It's kind of amazing the different experiences people have with BMWs. That is exactly why I would never buy one. I like consistent reliability. Based on a survey of friends that either still do or have owned BMWs purchased new:

335 - A/C, inside switches, transmission, HID headlights, general electrical. Sold it at 30k miles
M3 conv - electrical
650 - everything
M5 - A/C many times, wheels constantly out of true (but replaced 3 under warranty)
recent 535 - A/C, transmission, early rust (lives in an area of Kentucky where the car shouldn't have had a problem)
recent 740 - engine, transmission, electrical
X5 4.4 - everything

My bet is they just got the bad ones. All the rest are solid.

If you make a **** pile of money and pay cash instead of using cheap money "low interest or 0% offers you're losing allot. My business is finance and I prefer making 2.5 to 3.25% per month on my money and maintain as much capital as possible so my cash is working for me instead of the other way around.

P.S- she may seem high maintenance but she's awesome and works her tail off. So in my eyes she has earned it, especially after spending 4yrs. of college, 4yrs of medical school, 5yrs of residency, 1yr of fellowship getting paid almost nothing and working many 24hr straight shifts, she has earned herself a nice sled for work. ;-)

A friend of ours had a 650 and it was all trouble. I'm just happy all my cars have been under warranty but they were fun to drive. My 200 just went out of warranty last week but I'm not worried at all. :-)

In that case she doesn't sound high maintenance at all. I like educated, hard working folks no matter that the gender :-). Gold diggers living off their spouse's hard work - not so much.

I dated a couple of those GDs in the past. Fun for the first few months but in the end it was like paying for high rent hookers. Lol!

wow hundy forum is a bit less in the stratosphere than this zip in cyberspace. we are a two MD family, and could swing a 200, but I think the hundy will do just fine

I 100% endorse the current gen ML63 with performance pkg. My neighbor has one and adores it. I've driven it once and it's a great SUV. Also consider the X5M (I've had EXCELLENT reliability with all my BMW M cars) and Cayenne Turbo S. All three redefine the laws of physics re acceleration, braking an handling for two ton cars on stilts. They are great fun and would really compliment the 200.

The Cayenne Turbo S is pretty sweet as well. However she liked the fact ML63 was a smooth ride in comfort mode and the seats were super comfy and most of all, she loved the steering wheel the best. Lol! Hopefully she will now drive with two hands on the wheel ;-)

I'm picking it up today and will post pics

Why would anyone pay cash for a vehicle when the interest rates are so low 0-2%. Keep the money invested and let the money work for you.
That is unless you make $1,000 a month and have a $900 car payment for your 200 and live with your mom in a trailer then financing is a bad idea.
If I would have used PenFed's buying service I would have gotten .99% for the GL350, instead I got 1.99% from chase. Still not bad. I'm not in financial industry but this is what I was taught and it makes perfect sense.
1. Maximize the $ into retirment plans
2. put $ away for kids college
3. put more away for college and retirment
4. Pay your bills
5. take care of your parents
6. put away some savings.
7. Enjoy the rest.
Did I forget anything?

Great advice! I would only flip #5 with #6 otherwise I like your thinking. I would add in giving to the church or a charity of your choice maximize tax savings and it makes you feel like you're doing something important with your money. Granted it's getting harder as the govt. keeps raising taxes and fees but I'll leave it at that.
