here's my situation. i'm driving a long without a care in the world. I put my foot on the clutch and a] the clutch pedal stays down and b] it won't let me change gear! So the car stalls. Now the engine is off it lets me out of gear. So I've turned the engine back on and now whenever I go to change gear the pedal stays to the floor and I have to use my toe to pull the pedal back up to normal position.

My clutch fluid is normal, there appears to be no air in the system. It's never happended before and it was a sudden situation and not a gradual decline in clutch pedal effort.

I've had a look at the slave cylinder and it appears fine. Where the clutch hose joins the slave cylinder it's a little oily but, when I'm under the car and a mate pushes in and out the clutch pedal I can't see any leakage.

The above was the scenario between last wednesday and sunday.

Today I get in the car [a KZJ70 series with 1KZT engine] and the clutch works absolutely fine!

Any ideas on what's going on? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Al

Sound to me like there is a problem with the master cylinder. Maybe the piston travelling through the bore is allowing fluid by. Hence no pressure to return the pedal to its normal position.Hey it might be the slave cylinder but not under the hood so cant really say.Sticky pedal mechanism?
