Why Not Camber Plates on 2.5 - 3 Inch Lift as Opposed to Camber Bushings?

There are 2-3" lift caster plates in the works, from what I hear ;)

Oh and they retain OEM rubber bushings.
Am I correct in understanding this to mean you know someone is developing plates with less than 3.5 degrees of correction? I've heard 3.5* correction is about where some vehicles start getting driveline vibes. I'm looking for an option to retain stock bushings and add some correction. I'd be interested in MAF drop brackets if I could make them work with my sliders. Caster plates seem like an appealing option.

just checking in. Can I buy a 2.5-3" plate kit yet? :hillbilly:

I ordered a set of adjustable ones and rubber Toyota bushes last week, I have had the nolathane offset caster bushes in for quite a few years, but never been totally happy with them, I hear the factory rubber gives a smoother ride, and I think may lessen the chances of cracks in the housing over the corrugated roads we have
Which ones did you get? Do you have and details and pictures?

I'm in for any testing that you'd like to do, or to purchase one of the first sets... I'm OME stock height springs with 1" spacers. If proto testing, I'll commit to before/after computer alignments to get accurate caster numbers for publication, well I'll provide those numbers anyways. I know from my last alignment that I'm out of spec as she sits and it's a little wandering on the road.

Any news?

wonder if landtanks will fit w/ my OPOR sliders

if you need someone to check that clearance i'm your guy!

Is this normally a problem with sliders and plates? Or is it just drop brackets that have that problem?

Those look good. Quick question: Are the 2.5" lift camber plates basically a Land Tank plate that comes already drilled for that much lift?

It's this nasty orange s*** they get where it rains or where they use salt on the road. Not much of a problem here or there but some folks are plagued with it. Side effects are cussing, busted knuckles and throwing tools. Should be avoided at all cost!

While on the topic of rust, does anyone have "THE" method for getting rid of rust on the bottom of our rigs? 6.5 years of Utah living has not been kind to my 80 and I am about to finally tackle my big renovation. Could use some advice from the experts.

For surface rust I just used distilled white vinegar. Spray liberally and let sit before hosing it down. Works fantastically. Anything more serious and its out of my knowledge zone. :P

To answer the OP question. I have ome medium springs which most say are 2.5" , up front I have a 1" spacer for the stink bug. I planned to go to j springs so I installed some of the iron man plates I got from a friend for helping with his head gasket.I haven't changed the springs and have been running the plates for over 5 years now. The drag link did contact the control arms at full lock so I ground a slight groove for it about 1/4 inch deep and 1.5 inches wide so the steering isn't hitting now. If it weakened it any I haven't bent them yet and if I do I'll replace them then. The bump stop does hit the spring on full compression but not enough to worry about and I could grind a little off of it on the front edge that sticks out past the rubber but it doesn't bother me , I've only noticed it when the front tire gets stuffed. I still have my stock front shaft with no vibes. The truck also rides a lot better than it did with no correction. So there it can be done YMMV
