I remember seeing it, but not who built it.

finally I found a M101

srsly? A M101 CDN in Australia? Must be a story behind that one.

They are rated as amphibious with the bed plugs in place. Doubt it floated across the Pacific from BC, then washed up on some beach in Australia, though.

We have an equivalent in Australia!!!
The No.5 trailer

would be a challenge 300hp outboard bolted on the back might just make it!!!;)

Sorry, the thread called "finally i found a m101" on MUD has a trailer very similar to the picture.

That's OK. We got a couple of pics on an Aussie No. 5, a very respectable looking trailer.
Is it rated as a 1/4 ton? Or is it bigger? Hard to tell directly from the pics of it, but well worth the price of admission.

Not sure 300 hp is enough to keep a brick like a 1/4 ton trailer on plane or not. It'd be a long, long ride otherwise.:flipoff2:

My father in law is a former sub commander. I'll have to ask if that is a plausible scenario or not...:doh:

Ah-ha, very interesting link on the second one. Turns out the RAN tested the seaworthiness of the No. 5. Found it a bit wanting, but does have a very low radar signature...and this involved a submarine;)

I like how there are canopies and the fact that it's a certified 1/2 ton. The 1/4 ton rating on NATO trailers is based on their amphibious capacity and is nominal for use on dry land. I'm fairly certain I had a ton in mine once. She was heavy, but handled it with aplomb.

Too bad they're so far away. They'd be every bit as popular in the States as the M101 CDN, I'm certain. Wonder how much a container full of them would cost you landed in LA?

It doesn't surprise me re: seaworthiness, our iconic Sydney Opera House is sinking. She'll be right mate, bit a silicone!

That's what I like about you Yanks, here I am thinking I could take a couple over and it could pay for my holiday..... Oh no your thinking a whole container load!

Heh, heh, they're sure not going to let you carry a couple of No. 5s on into the cabin and I doubt they qualify for checked baggage either. So even for one or two, you'll need a container, which is going to cost pretty much the same mostly empty or packed full of trailers, given they're light and bulky.

I knew I'd seen it before here. Looking good and looking:D better.
