Just got a newsletter from Stevens Creek Lexus with a 35% off msrp this weekend offer.

Awesome hookup, needed to order brake pads and rotors. Not sure if lexus parts work on toyota?

Toyota Parts Deal is doing the same thing. Rotors are even less.

If those dealers still charge shipping, you should always compare prices with Vescovo Toyota using code FREESHIP. Similar prices but free shipping over $75 can make a big difference in price. You have to use the code and spend at least $75 - free shipping isn't automatic.

It pays to comparison shop. This isn’t as great a deal as it first seems. I went to order a set of rotors and FREESHIP gets me $200 off shipping, but they inflated the shipping charges to $277, so are trying to charge me $77 to ship two front and two rear rotors. Hard to compare apples to apples since Vescovo are farther away, but Boch Toyota wants $94 to ship the same order. Plus Vescovo’s prices are $3 more per rotor than Boch. In the end, it would actually cost more to buy from Vescovo with their “free” (not free) shipping, versus just paying for the shipping.

Depending on where you're at you might check if your local Toyota dealer does delivery. There are a number of dealers in the Chicago area, some of which are part of the toyota parts online system and some aren't, but there's one about 20 miles from me that will do local delivery via their courier and for heavy stuff it's always WAY less than paying for shipping from anywhere else. Case in point a pair of LCAs which is like 60# was $16 for delivery.

If you have a Costco membership, check out their auto buying program. If you have a participating Toyota dealer, you can get 15% off at the parts counter (have to get a coupon through costco.com under the auto buying/parts section...

I'm going to tackle the brakes later this year and will comparison shop prices at this weekend's sales as well as a close-by dealer. I found one of the local dealers will provide a decent discount if I bring them a parts list, pay up front, and pick up the order at the parts counter.

@Sandroad I don't know how much towing you do vs normal driving, but I have found the Centric pads and rotors are a lot more resistant to brake fade than the Toyota ceramic pads. Downside is they are dustier and the pads will groan like you're twisting metal if you're creeping up at a stop light. I'm happy with that trade-off for much better braking performance when I tow, particularly when going out west.

Thanks for the thoughtful info. Pretty much all of my LC's use is towing something; camper/utility/boat, so I'll take a careful look at Centric.

I'll be very interested what the discounts apply to. I could definitely see myself getting some Tundra parts for the OE long travel...🤔
