I need to get a pair of FJ40 jump seat frames cleaned up and I think some form of media blasting is just the ticket. If you do this or have a recommendation, I am all ears.

My coworker does. Give me more information and i can ask him (there are different types of media blasting for different materials etc...)

They are just painted steel FJ40 seat frames that have some rust on them.

Is there is rust on areas that will be exposed once they reupholstered? If not I would just sand and paint with Rust-Oleum. Worse case maybe Par15. If the exposed area is free of any pitting that a light sanding won't take out I won't risk any pitting from blasting.

Some surface rust on areas that might be exposed a little. The worst areas will be covered by cushions/seat covers, but I want to clean it up a better than I have patience to sand and scrape.
